JAMARQ Scout

Finds local businesses worth a call, shows the evidence, and works each one as a deal.

In use

Began 2026-04-10 as Scout; carried the Tenra name from 2026-05-03 to 2026-09-14; Tauri since 2026-08-23; MarketDesk folded in 2026-10-03.

Why it was built

Scout looks for local businesses with no website, a broken one or a weak one. A list of names is not much use on its own. A person needs to see why each lead came up, and which ones are worth calling now.

Scout keeps the evidence for every lead it raises: screenshots, URLs and a confidence level. It ranks leads by urgency, by sites that have got worse since the last scan, and by fit with the market, not by how bad a site looks. It is deliberately not an SEO platform, a general crawler or a full CRM.

Since October 2026 it also carries a lead, or a pasted marketplace listing, through quotes, proposals and follow-ups until the deal is won, lost or marked as no fit.

What it does today

Built and working

One-query market scan

Search a market through Google Places, with Bing filling the gaps. Each site found is audited in a real browser, with accessibility checks, and the run ends in a report with a confidence level.

A ranked shortlist

Leads are ranked on urgency, market fit and change signals, with what changed since the last scan. A business can be watched between scans.

A prospect report by town

Leads grouped by town with drive times and tiers, and printable. A lead can also be checked against the domain registry and against who is open at the address now.

A leave-behind page

A printable page to leave with the business owner.

A deal pipeline

A board with a Needs attention strip, a five-step deal path, quotes, proposals, follow-ups as calendar files, and a weekly review. A Today screen and a Cmd+K menu pull it together.

Optional handoffs

A proposal can go to Guardrail for review before it is sent. A won deal can be handed to Assembly. Both are optional.

How it came to be

The development cycle

227 commits and 126 merged pull requests, as of 2026-10-05.

  1. 2026-04-16

A desktop app, then on Electron, and outreach drafting.

  2. 2026-05-02 to 05-06

Lead triage and an inbox across runs. Handoffs to the other apps and an opportunity export.

  3. 2026-07-02

An operator dashboard and saved market profiles.

  4. 2026-08-20

The shortlist ranked on urgency, market fit and change signals.

  5. 2026-08-23

Electron replaced by Tauri. The shell changed and the 1.1 GB Node runtime stayed.

  6. 2026-09-14

Renamed JAMARQ Scout. Google Places search with Bing for the rest, and relevance ranking.

  7. 2026-09-15

The prospect report grouped by town with drive times, printable. Tiers, a pasted business list as a source, Settings, and a Scans and usage page.

  8. 2026-10-01

Domain registry lookup, who is open at an address now, watching a business between scans, and the printable leave-behind page.

  9. 2026-10-02

Drafts shaped inside the app instead of being sent to a separate tool. Old names retired.

  10. 2026-10-03

MarketDesk folded in: deals, library, quotes, proposals, follow-ups, weekly review and the won handoff. An interface pass started.

  11. 2026-10-04 to 10-05

Interface pass finished. Fixes for launching in the background.

What was folded in

One app became part of this one

Earlier tools that did one piece of this job on their own. Their work moved here and their repositories were archived.

MarketDesk

2026-07-04 to 2026-10-03

A cockpit for marketplace opportunities, quotes and proposals, 51 commits. Its deals, library, quotes, proposals, follow-ups, weekly review and won handoff moved into Scout. A hands-on check passed the same day and the old app was archived.

Where it stands

Real, and not yet

  • •Places and Bing search, browser and accessibility audits with evidence, the prospect report, tiers, change signals, the watch list and the leave-behind page.
  • •Deals, the library, quotes, proposals, follow-ups and the weekly review, with optional Guardrail review of proposals and the won handoff to Assembly.

Not built, or switched off

  • A field app for phones is not built and waits on a decision.
  • The packaged app still needs PostgreSQL installed on the machine. The database is not embedded.
  • Builds are signed ad hoc and not notarized.
