JAMARQ Ledger

Double-entry bookkeeping that stays on the machine, one self-contained book at a time.

In use

Began 2026-03-13 as Ledger, on Tauri from the first commit; carried the Tenra name from 2026-05-03 to 2026-10-02.

Why it was built

Ledger was built on a short list of rules from its first README. The person keeping the books owns the data, with no cloud account and no sign-in. Double entry is done correctly. A posted transaction is reversed or corrected, never edited. Each book is self-contained, so it can be backed up on its own. Explicit actions win over hidden automation.

It also became the pathfinder for the desktop shell. Its platform review on 2026-07-20 set the pattern the other Tauri apps follow.

What it does today

Built and working

Self-contained books

Each book is self-contained, with a chart of accounts, parties and transactions, so it can be backed up on its own.

Corrections that never overwrite

Posted transactions are reversed or corrected with new entries. The original stays where it was.

Daily Accounting and four reports

A Daily Accounting view, plus Trial Balance, General Ledger, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.

Registry import and reconciliation

An export from Registry is previewed, then imported into one book as a single step that either lands whole or not at all, and reconciled.

Restore rehearsal

A backup can be previewed and rehearsed before a restore, without touching the live books.

Where it stands

Real, and not yet

  • •Books, the chart of accounts, parties, and posted transactions with reversal and correction.
  • •Daily Accounting, Trial Balance, General Ledger, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
  • •Registry import and reconciliation, backup, restore preview and restore rehearsal.

Not built, or switched off

  • A walkthrough of reconciliation against live figures is still to be done.
  • There is no web or mobile version. Both are inactive.
  • Payroll, tax, invoicing and sync are future modules, not built.
